Activity report 2014

In 2014 we became Odisee. That means a new name, a new face, a new identity with a new mission and vision, in which the Centre for Family Studies can recognize itself.

‘Believing in the strength of people’, is up front in the Odisee-mission and is also a motto for the Centre for Family Studies. Working with families while focussing on their own strengths is a recurrent theme is this activity report.

‘We embrace differences’, it sounds like a welcome calling for the knowledge center. Respect for differences is in our DNA, not only as a research theme, but even in composition of our team and in our choice for guest speakers.

‘Our university-college is a stepping stone to new worlds with whom we start a dialogue, but aren't afraid to confront either', the mission states provocatively. That is a challenge we are not afraid to tackle in the Centre for Family Studies. The children and families of new worlds are already diversifying our cities and schools.

These are just a couple of examples that show how the mission and the values of Odisee encourage us as a knowledge center to go (even) further in our strive towards qualitative family support, with respect for the unicity of families, in all of their diversity.
