Conference: Who takes care of care giving families?

Families who deal with a disability or a chronic disease are faced with extraordinary questions about healthcare and support. How do the different family member experience this? And who takes care of them? During this conference we plead for more attention for the perspective of the families.

We start this day with the insights we gathered in two recent surveys of the Gezinsbond (Family Federation) about the way society views families with a disabled family member, and the way family members of a disables person experience the impact of this disability.

Later on, families come up to tell us their story: how do they cope? What are their strengths? Who is concerned with their role as care givers? How can we improve the care and support for these families?

Your voice counts as well! We organize discussion groups where we search for the best ways to acquire the wanted care.

An information fair of organizations, self help groups, and networks offer you a taste of new initiatives and good practices.

This conference will take place on friday May 29th, 1015. All lectures and discussions will be in Dutch.
