Kristien Nys is doctor in pedagogical sciences.

She is a lecturer in Family Studies.

She coordinates a student project and conducts research on the subject of parental support in vulnerable families.

In 2009-2010 she analyzed the implementation of the decree parental support on the local level.

In 2012-2013 she evaluated the approach of ‘Homecompany’, a project of the province Limburg to empower families in poverty with underage children.

She is currently working on a new project about parents and youth work.
