Wim Peersman is doctor in medical sciences and master in sociology. He coordinates the bachelor-after-bachelor Psychosocial Gerontology and teaches the course 'Aging in a social perspective'.

In the Centre for Family Studies he is involved in a project about family participation in residential care.
